it is the spirit that reasons. It is the spirit that receives instruction from God. Several other scriptures will help to make this clear. Romans 8:16: “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.” Rom. 1:9: “God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son.” Job 32:8: “There is a spirit in man; and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.” Notice that understanding is received by the spirit through divine inspiration.
